Anti-SLAPP Law Marks 20 Years Protecting 1st Amendment.
The California Anti-SLAPP Project (CASP) helps individuals, organizations and businesses defend themselves against SLAPPs (Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation).
CASP is proud to have led the fight for passage of the anti-SLAPP law law two decades ago to protect, under state law, the First Amendment rights of petition and speech. On this important milestone, CASP takes a look back on twenty of the most significant moments in the law’s history.
When the law took effect in 1993, CASP began providing legal assistance and representation to individuals and organizations whose First Amendment activity was protected under the statute.
Since then, CASP has earned a reputation as one of the leading anti-SLAPP firms in the state, allowing us to offer unique, focused expertise to our clients. CASP represents defendants who have been SLAPPed, and provides consultation and assistance to all parties with respect to the anti-SLAPP law.
Please note: CASP can only assist on SLAPPs or subpoenas filed in California. Contact us if you are uncertain as to where the lawsuit against you was filed.
