The California Anti-SLAPP Project (CASP) is a public interest law firm and policy organization dedicated to protecting the rights of Californians to participate in government and civic affairs and to speak freely about public issues.

Please note: CASP is only able to assist with SLAPPs filed in the state of California. For out of state SLAPPs, you may wish to consult these additional resources.

SLAPPs are Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation — lawsuits filed against people or organizations because they have exercised their right to petition the government or speak out on public issues.

Founded in 1991, CASP provides legal assistance and representation to individuals and organizations being SLAPPed in California courts, and engages in policy advocacy to improve the functioning of the anti-SLAPP law in the Legislature. More...
